Meet Matt, the owner and operator of Uptown’s Finest Barbershop. A Rockland native, Matt always dreamed of owning a local shop in order to be his own boss and provide for his family. Dreaming of starting this business since middle school, Matt’s only regret is not having begun sooner! Starting out with nothing, Matt worked for a moving company in order to save for his business while supporting his wife and children. The years of hard work finally paid off when his longtime dream became reality, founding Uptown’s Finest Barbershop. As a new, fresh face for the long standing barbershop scene in Rockland Center, Matt appeals to young and mature customers alike.
He creates a lively environment with bright red stools and clean lines throughout his shop. His business has grown organically by word of mouth translating to a good following on social media. Matt keeps his customers up to date with the latest trends and holiday hours using his website, Facebook and Instagram. When asked about the near future, Matt looks forward to growing his business by working day-in and day-out, becoming a neighborhood staple. When asked about retirement he said he’ll be cutting hair until he’s in his nineties! The next time you come in for a trim leave with a fresh outlook on life by being around this driven entrepreneur.
